Drug Screening / Substance Abuse Testing

To meet Department of Transportation requirements, employees must be tested for five drugs: marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, PCP, and opiates. This is referred to as a five-panel drug screen. Companies that do not have to comply with DOT rules may test for other drugs. The most common drugs tested for are: amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepine, cocaine, propoxyphene, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, phencyclidine, and marijuana. This is referred to as a ten-panel drug screen.
