Chalmydia Testing (Male $60.00) (Female $30.00)

Chalmydia testing is done with a surgical swab for women to take a culture, and a urine specimen for men.

Chlamydia, caused by the Chlamydia Trachomatis bacterium, is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases in the United States. Both men and women are at risk of transmitting or being infected with Chlamydia. Chlamydia may also be transmitted to babies from their mothers during delivery. Chlamydia is curable but if left untreated, it can cause irreversible damage. Due to the amount of Chlamydia cases in the United States, its asymptotic nature, and the severe consequences if left untreated, health experts recommend annual screenings in sexually active individuals in non-monogamous relationships.

Gonnorreah Testing $30.00

Gonorrhea is caused by the Neisseria gonorrhoeae bacterium. Gonorrhea grows and thrives best in moist and warm areas of the body such as the cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, urethra, mouth, throat, and anus. Second to Chlamydia, Gonorrhea is one of the most reported sexually transmitted diseases in the United States. Gonorrhea is curable but if left untreated, it can cause irreversible damage.

Genital Herpes Testing $60.00*

Oral herpes, coldsores, genital herpes, HSV 1 and HSV 2 are common names for the herpes simplex virus. Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Type 1 & 2 are common human pathogens that live in the nervous system. HSV 1 is primarily known to infect the tongue, mouth, lips, pharynx, and eyes. HSV 2 is primarily known to infect the genital area and cause neonatal infections. Infection may occur by either HSV 1 or HSV 2 at any site. Statistics show that over 30% of genital Herpes simplex virus infections are being caused by HSV 1.

*If positive an additional test will be needed to isolate which type of Herpes virus it is and propose a course for treatment for an additional $60.00

HIV Testing $30.00

HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. In most cases, people infected with HIV will develop AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). HIV destroys ýhelper cellsý that are critical in the normal functioning of the human immune system. With the destruction of ýhelper cellsý, there is an increase for opportunistic infections. There are two types of HIV, HIV-1 and HIV-2. While HIV-1 is commonly tested for in the United States, HIV-2 is predominantly found in Africa and is still not recommended as a routine test.

Syphillis Testing $30.00

Syphilis is one of the oldest infections known. Syphilis is a systemtic disease caused by the Treponema pallidum bacteria. During infection, Syphilis can have three stages; primary, secondary, and latent. What are the symptoms of Syphilis? Known as the great imitator, syphilis symptoms vary greatly and may be confused with other diseases. During the various stages of infection, Syphilis may manifest itself in different types of symptoms.

Hepatitis Testing $90.00

We test for Hepatitis A, B, and C.

Hepatitis A is transmitted from person to person by the "fecal-oral" route. This means ingesting infected fecal matter (stool) or by other common contact such as in the household, sexual contact, ingesting contaminated water, drug injection needles that are shared, or eating undercooked shellfish. Hepatitis A usually occurs in regions with under-developed sanitation systems yet it still is present in the United States. Hepatitis A does not cause chronic liver illness and symptoms are very mild and can be short-lived.

Hepatitis B is transmitted by direct contact with body fluids (semen, vaginal fluids, etc) or blood of an infected person. Examples of contact are sexual contact with an infected person, sharing needles with an infected person, or receiving a contaminated blood transfusion. A baby may become infected during delivery if the mother has Hepatitis B.

Hepatitis C is transmitted by direct contact with infected human blood. For example, sharing needles, using someone's razor or toothbrush, sex, or receiving blood or organs from an infected person. A baby may become infected during delivery if the mother has Hepatitis C. High risk groups include people with multiple tattoos or body piercing performed with an unsterilized needle, sharing needles or syringes, having high risk and/or multiple sex partners, or receiving blood transfusions.
